“The King’s Speech” (Il Discorso del Re) di Tom Hooper fa il pieno di candidature agli Oscar 2011. Il film sulla figura del re balbuziente Giorgio VI (nonno dell’attuale regina d’Inghilterra), è in corsa con ben 12 nomination, inclusa quella per miglior film e quella, data praticamente per scontata, al miglior attore protagonista (Colin Firth, già vincitore del Golden Globe).
Nei più prestigiosi dei palmares, ossia miglior film e regia, a darsi battaglia sono anche il western “True Grit” (“Il Grinta” dei fratelli Coen) con 10 nomination, “Inception” di Christopher Nolan e “The Social Network” con 8 candidature ciascuno. Chiude “The Fighter” con 7.
Nessuna sorpresa dunque per i film dell’anno, come anticipato la scorsa settimana dall’assegnazione dei Golden Globes, i premi della critica internazionale.
“The Social Network” di David Fincher correrà per i prossimi Academy Awards nelle categorie più importanti: miglio film, regia, attore protagonista (Jesse Eisenberg), sceneggiatura non originale (Aaron Sorkin).
Queste le pellicole che hanno raccolto più candidature oltre a quelle già citate: “127 Hours” (6), “Il Cigno Nero – Black Swan” (5), “Toy Story 3” (5), “The Kids Are All Right” (4) e “Winter’s Bone” (4).
A contendersi i premi per le migliori interpretazioni maschili, oltre a Colin Firth, Xavier Bardem per “Biutiful”, Jeff Bridges per “True Grit”, Jesse Eisenberg per “The Social Network” e James Franco per “127 Hours”; mentre in gara per quelle femminili sono Annette Bening per “The Kids Are All Right” (già vincitrice del Golden Globe), Nicole Kidman per “Rabbit Hole”, Natalie Portman per “Il Cigno Nero – Black Swan”, Michelle Williams “Blue Valentine”, Jennifer Lawrence “Winter’s Bone”.
Ad annunciare le principali cinquine è stata l’attrice Premio Oscar lo scorso anno per “Precious” Mo’Nique insieme al Presidente dell’Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Tom Sherak. La cerimonia, che quest’anno sarà presentata dalla coppia Anne Hathaway e James Franco, si svolgerà il 27 febbraio al Kodak Theatre di Los Angeles.
